You must either let him cure the genophage for real and sacrifice his life in doing so, or murder him to sabotage the cure. If Wrex is the Krogan leader, then you cannot persuade Mordin to walk away and trick the Krogan. According to the official guide, there are 3 possible outcomes for this mission and they all depend on the choices you have made in the first 2 games.
